The Mis-Information Age

It's Sunday, a day to relax. Or at least that's what the old Sabbatarians have programmed us to believe. And that's what the Gregorian calendar maintains. Well, I take it literally. Sunday is "the first day of the week dedicated to the sun." Great, hats off to the sun! I think I'll have brunch, do some hiking, then work on my programming tonight.

I am building another specialty website called "Databank." The site will be dedicated to rare subjects and hard-to-find information. The content will be very accurate and reliable, which will help to counter the overwhelmins tons of inaccurate bologna that sit there rotting on the internet now. I'll be providing links to the site through my blog. If anyone has a tough subject you wish me to crack, please email me through this site! (click on "Feedback" to the left). My first undertaking will be a full report on fire ant infestation. It's meant to be self-therapy, since I have a very irrational fear of these creeps.

What are Sabbatarians? Click "Read more..."
Sabbatarians: Those who observe the day of rest with excessive strictness, a peculiar feature of English and Scottish Puritanism enforced during the period of the COMMONWEALTH when sport and recreation were forbidden. Some relaxation occurred after the RESTORATION, but the Lord’s Day Observance Act of 1782 closed on a Sunday all places of entertainment where an admission fee was charged. A Sunday Entertainments Act, 1932, empowered local authorities to license the Sunday opening of cinemas and musical entertainments, and the opening of museums and the like was permitted. The Bill was opposed by the Lords Day Observance Society. More recently, the same Society has opposed Sunday trading and the increased opening of shops and stores on Sunday.
